My Introduction

Your Lucky to get 10 -20 full power passes from a Boosted or nitrous car running 8-seconds or faster.
Something wants to break or Kaboom !

Norm E runner uped in street at South Mountain with a 327 glide car 1/8 mile track 8.40 car Low 13 in the 1320 he lost to Fox in his Nissan Sentra that on a good day runs elevens in the 1/8 its not how bad ass your car is you don’t need 800hp to run a glide I started with a 6 cylinder glide nova I run a two speed 700R4 in my car now. TV is making the sport I love very difficult everyone thinks they have to show up with a 8 second ride bracket racing is not street racing you don’t need the shit you see on tv to be competitive or have fun sorry for going off and being winded the car count is going down because of the outlaw shows when people see what it’s going to cost to build a car of that caliber they give up without knowing we exist
Been thinking...its a long shot but you may be onto something.
Bracket drag Racing.

Up against internet baseline 10.50 ET.

Pro Tour cars are a joke I know most can only run a 15.99 ET those guys.

T-buckets can not run fast without a full rollcage.
Limited to 13.50 ET in a T-bucket & convertible without a Rollcage.
13.49 ET & Faster You need a Rollcage.

NHRA allows Coupes 2008 & Newer to run as fast as 10.00 ET without a Rollcage.
Eliminates everyone here except Richard with his C6 Corvette.

Reviewing NHRA Rules this morning.
It can not hurt to try out bracket racing a bit.

All I know is Street Race Win & anyway to do it to Win.

I Have Byron Raceway Byron Illinois.
Cordova Illlinois.
Union Grove Wisconsin.
US 41 Indy.
Route 66 Joliet IL & I know they have the toughest track rules around.

It Really does not make logical sense to dream about Huge Horsepower without 1st thinking about the car chassis.
Can You Run Legal on a NHRA Track 11.50 ET or Faster or not ?
That should be the number 1 criteria today.

Since most Baby Boomers can not get in and out a car with full rollcage dreaming of Horsepower not really that important for them.
Just need a cruising machine.
Mild so they they do not crash & get hurt bad.

You can only dial as fast as your safety gear I have an all motor 8.20 @154mph car but it has no roll cage so when I take it to the track I run two eight second passes my time shots when I hit the lanes I have to dial 11.50 because that’s all I’m allowed by NHRA rules so I run it out the back door and break out by a ton to legally run this fast I would need a medical card full fire gear a roll cage that is 7.50 certificate a helmet that is snell 2007 or better

When NHRA and IRHA changed the rules, that's when I went to street racing. Then the Government stepped in and made that also hard to do without becoming a felon.
So now I just cruise. In a T-Bucket or on my Harley. Up to about a thousand miles away for a week at a time.

They changed the rules to make everyone safer not slower even with today’s safety people are still killed. I probably won more money bracket racing in 13 second car then any joe will ever win street racing

A guy just needs 200-250 Horsepower to cruise.
Using actally 35-70 Hp at most on the highway light throttle.

One Idiot in Florida working at Corvette shop street raced a Customers Corvette.
Had an Epileptic siezure.
Crashed real bad.
Got out and took photos himself.
Posted to all the Vette guys.
Lied.
I busted him.
He did not deny the truth.
Changed my way of thinking of street racing.
He did it on a public highway in peak traffic hours also.
Grumpy watched seen all.

yes the rules are there mostly to improve the car and driver safety,
but it also greatly increases cost, and reduces participation.
I rather enjoy the , local Saturday night "run what your brought"
racing, yes your limited to about a 13 second car,
but its still fun to watch because its mostly guys in street driven cars
what screws it up is theres always some guy that could run low 10 seconds with $5000 plus in computer controlled equipment,
that basically lets the car run the race, and click off boringly consistent runs
making the guys with basic street driven cars at a huge disadvantage in the long term.
when I first got my 1985 corvette it would consistently run about 14.5 seconds in its O.E.M. condition,
once I tweaked a few things and added a few parts .
consistent 13.3 second runs.
at this point I had a great deal of fun with the corvette.
yeah I decided to tweak the combo a bit, changed cams, several times, ported heads, added a 3200 rpm stall,
swapped to a custom ported and significantly modified stealth ram, much larger injectors, a new ignition, added slicks,
added a better 3" full length and well designed low restriction, exhaust ,
and low 11 second runs, with a 250 hp, wet nitrous kit ,
and getting told I could no longer race the car was a huge P.I.T.A.

Lol.
Those fox body Mustangs end up pretty quick.
They have chassis issues of their own.
The Torque boxes are weak.
Guys install what is know as "Battle Boxes" into them no rollcage racing here.
The Upper rear control arms like to rip clean out of the Rear unibody.

He is an old street racer too.
Do not be fooled any.

yeah, Ive occasionally under fairly safe conditions
(no other cars but the one your screwing with inside your immediate area,)
run the car up through the gears, a bit on the street back in the day,
but then I doubt you could find a single serious muscle-car owner,
who has not occasionally done a few first, second gear, maybe third gear, burn out, style, street light races,
and yeah, if its some place with zero traffic you might find youve exceeded 80 mph occasionally.

Sorry you miss understanding me Ok the old saying is to go Duck Hunting in a lake and be able to shoot a duck in a lake is difficult if you have ducks in a barrel of water it’s much easier So comes the phrase Easier then shooting Ducks in a barrel WE car guys that actually go to the track to race use the word Mustang in place of Ducks So when someone says it’s like shooting mustangs in a barrel it means to easy

Yes I have done the same many times also.
We have working brains & done it late at night on closed roads no one around.

Have idiots everywhere.
Wiz....

Yesterday I posted where 1320 Video along with Oklahoma Street outlaws raced in a shopping mall parking lot with conctrete curbing.
900 foot shutdown area.
! ?
Running 140-150 mph in 1/8 mile...
Looked like less than 1/8 mile total with shutdown.
1967 Camaro wrecked within 1st 2 minutes.....Stupid as can be like Wiz on DC.
