Just a few days ago I was cleaning up my bench top and threw out anything that looked like junk. Well now I’m just an hour or so away from sorting out my list to get my Pontiac running again and I discovered I’m missing a part.
There should be a simple solution something from a parts bin but I’m lost where to start looking.
In the photo at the rear of the 2 barrel there is a fitting that allows the power brake booster connection and another vacuum line. If this part is no longer available what can I use?C0875DF8-1654-4983-8257-526D0A9400F6.jpeg

No ideas? I have a shit load of Quadrajet parts. I’ll have to look on Craigs for a decent 4 barrel manifold for a Pontiac.

You are probably going to have to get creative.

Looking at the 1st picture of the part you need on the left side is a hex head that appears to be a female thread

Ok, I got it! Went to my Favorite auto parts store and pieced together what I needed from AGS brand parts off the rack.
1 brass Union tee 1/8 NPTF
1 brass clamp-style hose fitting 3/8 for the brake booster
1 clamp style hose fitting 5/16”
And 1 brass close nipple

Now I have 5 vacuum connections on this 2 Jet Rochester. I know where 3 of them go off the bat. I’ll have to figure the other 2 out.

Question - while checking that all parts are tightened correctly I found the fuel connection was not so I checked further to make sure the brass filter was facing the right direction. It was good however I didn’t have the little washer that goes inside the nut on top of the brass filter. I don’t believe one came with the parts pack but that was a while ago. I do have the larger washer that is on the outside of the filter nut. Is that “other washer” a must have?

if its not leaking in use, its going to be far less critical.
but its best to have it.
