reliable source of info
Hi, I'm John from Delray Beach FL. I've got a few cars and build cars for others to earn a living.

First my cars, pics of a couple and will post pics of others if anyone wants to see them.

66 Mustang coupe
67 RS SS vert Camaro
70 Wildcat
70 Firebird
81 Malibu
86 Euro widebody Carrera Cabrio
88 Twin Cam Nova

A few customer cars. I build cars for people at their home or shop (even storage facilities) if they want and they can help or not as they desire. Some stuff gets done at my home shop.

welcome to the forum!

got any pictures of the frame and drive train, engine, transmission, linkage, and cooling and exhaust system, and suspension, on this car?

It's a Factory Five GTM Gen 1 kit car. The kit is made to utilize the suspension steering etc. from a donor C-5. and it's got an LS2 with G-50 trans.

Like many projects I've been involved in it was purchased as an unfinished project. I've been working on it sporadically the past year or more whenever the owner wants. It's running and can be driven now so it's ready for finish bodywork & paint.

As purchased where it was buried in a storage facility partially assembled (poorly).

Taken apart and everything done previously being checked/corrected at the new owners home shop. He used to own an automotive machine shop so he's got most tools handy.

LS2 with Porsche G-50 going in. Owner was installing ISIS wiring while I was dealing with engine install. Ya, that's me in the obligatory victory engine hoist pic. Very tight fir with accessories installed including AC compressor. Intake is reversed.

Kooks exhaust and modified carbon fiber diffuser.

Time for me to go to work. 68 Eleanor Mustang build today but I'll put up some interior/body pics of the GTM tonight.

Welcome
You have some very interesting car there, look like your doing impressive work :D
Thanks for the picture hehe !

Thanks guys!

The kooks headers will get pretty hot with the enclosed rear engine configuration even with the flow through cooling in the engine compartment so I made some custom plug wires using ceramic boot Accel pieces.

Special rear axles from Factory Five atre used to mate the Vette stuff to the Porsche trans.

Full belly pan for aerodynamics. This car is looooow. The black strips are rub bars bolted to the frame for speed bumps etc.

Current owner wanted to change the stock Factory Five interior from all black so I fitted up the dash gauges seats etc. and then they were sent to a local interior shop for some colored leather inserts. Glass rear window replaces the stock plexi. I don't like the gauge layout that had been done by someone previously. Hopefully I'll get a chance to make a new panel.

Good thing I'm not a big guy because there's very little room to work in the cabin. Here I'm installing Brake light switch & clutch switch (C5) onto brackets I made so they'd work with the Wilwood pedal setup.

Vintage Air controls are on console along with push to start etc.

The body doesn't come with any of the openings cut out and all of the louvers, scoops etc. are aftermarket items. Someone previously had started hacking the hood openings for louvers. So I straightened them out and cut out the brake duct openings and other parts while the current owner bonded on the fender louvers, roof scoop etc.

Random pics.

from the pictures,Id be both impressed and a bit intimidated, if I was given that as a project, unless of course it came with detailed and correct, assembly instructions, which would make it just a mater of following the instructions to the letter, and calling the manufacturer with questions if I had them, a process I eventually learned to do,early in my mechanical career , due to the results I had by failing to do so!
you don,t need to screw up to many parts when your young before you realize that you must be doing something wrong and start asking yourself what you could be doing to reduce the screw ups, and amazingly reading the directions , before you begin and asking questions of the older guys you trusted, came in really handy
