So I spent some time researching and looking for a handgun, And this is what I came up with! S&W M&P Compact 40 cal, and as soon as I can get into a class I am going to get my Concealed Carry License!

I have been going to the range, practicing. I grew up with weapons, my father was military and was proficient, I also have had extensive experience with firearms, so I will take a few classes and get my carry license!

that S&W M&P Compact 40 cal, is a popular choice,
let us know how you do at the range once you have had some practice time

I am doing pretty good at the range, have had to change the grips a couple times to get my hand comfortable. It came with 4 different grips. I also bought a good leather holster, extra mag holder, 2 extended mags(15 rds)and a range bag. My landlord is one of shooting buddies. He says my marksmanship is already good enough to qualify for the carry license.

I have had about 2 1/2 hrs practice. With a man figure target 95 % of my rounds are within 7 point area and all of my head shots are mostly centered.

It must be good times for the local independent gun shops. Around these parts you can’t go 4 or 5 miles in any direction without finding a shop, many in small detached building next to the owners home. Several are in the process of major renovations or complete new building add-ons. Classes for CC are up to $699 from $499. The one shop I go to says his CC classes are up over 400% since March, he attributes this in large part to the guys who refuse wearing a mask while shopping or in public, they don’t get any arguments when seen with a gun. In my personal opinion that’s a bad reason, I have 2 kids working in different stores and management tells them, “No mask, no service.” There has already been several guns pulled on employees and one unarmed kid shot over wearing masks.

Do not forget the gun you leave at the door is the one you wake up looking down the barrel of?
That gun is hidden, not out in the open! Oh yeah, the classes here in Texas are pretty reasonable, I am scheduled to take my class all day Saturday October 10th and it’s only 65 bux! Then I drive south to the DPS, department of public safety to be printed and wait for my license in the mail!

My LTC class is Saturday, have practiced several times. My rapid fire is getting a lot better, aim is improving also. Yesterday, I hit 5 dead bulls. We were shooting at target sheets that have six targets. I was using my 40 cal S&W. I bought extended mags(15 rds). I shot one mag per target out of 6 mags, I shot 5 dead bulls and a couple scratch bulls. Doing very good I think! I forgot, distance was 5 yds right side and 10 yds left side.

constant practice and frequently increasing the distance almost always helps increase skill.

Hey guys I passed with flying colors on my LTC class. Also last week I bought 2 more weapons. A Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm Sheild EZ, I also bought my 10 yr old a Ruger Wrangler 22 cal Single action 6 shot revolver. Gonna teach him safety on a BB gun then move up to the 22.
