New Jeep For War Time

I could have bought one just like this in 1972 at a surplus Army Store. Still in the crate, never opened for $2000.00
 
yeah, we all could have purchased a bunch of stuff back then for less than 5%- 10% of what it costs now
 
yeah I was making about $149 a week back then, or about 16 -20 weeks work after taxes
multiply what you make now per week, by about 25 and youll get some idea as to the cost back then and how expensive it was in relation to your salary

In 1972 I was 9 years old.. I spent my summers on my grandfathers farm helping Milk 80 head of cattle, and all the field work that went with the farm.
Grandpa gave me a weekly check of $80.
Looking back.....he gave me a hell of alot more than that in my upbringing. I will forever be thankful for that!!!
