New to the forum from Georgia.

Thanks for the add. I am not only new to this site but new to forums in general so excuse my ignorance about posting on here. I'm learning.
I got here by doing an internet search on whether or not a 2002 Isuzu Axiom with a 3.5 DOHC was an interference engine or not. Broken timing belt... I see this is mostly a hot rods site. But hey I do have a 1974 BBC Corvette project going on as well so I think I will stay and enjoy this site. Thanks

Welcome !
99.999 percent of single & overhead cam engines are interference fit.
Been that way for decades now.
The last I can think of non interference fit engines OHC is the 1986-1988 Ford Ranger 2.3 liter 4cyl SOHC Lima engine & there was a Ford SOHC 1.8 or 1.9 liter SOHC used in Mercury & Ford sedans non interference fit.

There is a list of interference vs non interference engines on this site. It list the Isuzu 3.5 as a NON-Interference engine. I have see other sites that say it IS an interference engine. So still not sure at the moment. Thanks for the welcome.

OK.
When that belt breaks or timing chain on most today they are dead unless your really in love with the car or are a decent mechanic yourself !

Not my car... And yes I am a decent mechanic, just have never worked on this type of engine when the belt actually breaks. I am trying to help someone else out. Thanks.
