Stopping in to say hello,

Been toying with GM vehicles for a good while,

All have been low budget and usually my daily driver (that don't work out real well).

I've had a my 77 vette (not by daily driver) for around 11 years now and have been steady at the upgrades,

I am building it for the street and few trips to the track when I feel like it,

below are some of the upgrades I've done to it:

77 vette
GM 454 stroked to 496
10: to 1 comp
Lunati solid roller 260* .701 lift
4:10 rear
2002 Z06 wheels
Dewitt's Radiator and Spal fans
Holley 1000 cfm HP series carb
Tuned with Innovate LM-1
Custom Built 200R4 OD trans

This is one of the more tech savvy forums I've come across and plan to do allot of reading here,

Thanks to all the members that take the time to share there knowledge.

I've removed the air box a little while back but don't have a pic of it other than the one below;

the only change from this pic is the addition of the fabbed valve covers in the above pic and a Dewitt radiator and Spal fans;

Ive got to show those pictures of your corvette, to my brother-in-law he has a 1974 corvette he just finished painting in my shop, and we installed a really nice set of dougs side exhaust headers on the vette, with a 454 big block and a 4 speed trans, thats somewhat similar in appearance.
hes currently replacing the interior and seats,radio,gauges, dash etc.

He did a great job on the paint from what I can tell in the pic,

I've got to do the interior of mine once I have the suspension done the way I need it.

Your Corvette don't look low budget, that engine is very very nice looking !!!

How do you like the 200-4R transmission and who built it for you ??? I'm in the
process of building my own 200-4R for my TBucket. I choose it because it's
the same length as my TH350. Also my driveshaft is only 12" long, so there
wasn't any other trans that would fit my application.

The trany is great for the OD, I have to say its different than the TH350/400. The TV cable and how it effects the trans is a good bit different.

I didn't want the full manual valve body so I have to live with the trans shifting on its own even when I pull it down to manual shift. I was told this is a feature of the 200 and the only way to resolve it is to go full manual.

My engine is set up to shift at around 7200 rpm and the trans shifts at around 6500 which I'm good with that. To get it to shift there I ordered it with the GN valve body and gov. I haven't tried it but it should shift out in D at around 5800 and if I hold it in 1st it should pull to around 6500.

I also ordered the 3000 stall with it,

I bought the trans from TransDepot out of Florida, they had the best warranty for the HP rating I needed.

Thanks for the details!

So you can't use the trans for engine braking while going down a long hill?

The TransDepot does seem to have some great prices on complete transmissions. Their wiring kit for the lockup torque converter was very interesting I thought. You can manually lock the converter even when in 2nd or 3rd gear, for towing, but I can see where that might be good for slow speed cruising to reduce heat.

It will down shift if you pull it down into a lower gear while driving at higher RPM's

I'm guessing it will down shift as long as I'm below 6500 rpms if I shift it down to a lower gear. I haven't tried it
