well that makes me feel yonger I thought being 61 was getting to be older?
I can sure help with most questions as Ive owned over a dozen corvettes in the last 40 years

G'Day Grump,
What do you think about replaceing the 2 cat Converters with new stainless one' s and leaving the Mufflers off and running pipes back? 1987 Corvette Pace car.
Looking for a way to get some sound my Dodge Pick up with straght pipes sounds better than my Vet, my Muff guy told me the new Converters will muff a bit + you s  ave about 40 lb's of Muff weight.
Cheers Joseph

any real improvements going to start with decent headers and a 3" exhaust with an (H) or (X) pipe to significantly reduce the restriction
having replaced dozens of 1984-87 exhaust systems on c4 corvettes I can assure you that if you have the option to run without the cats , and your serious about horsepower potential, that having a decent 3" full length exhaust with an (X) pipe is far superior and far less restrictive to ANYTHING those standard 2.5" cat equipped dual (Y) design exhaust systems can provide for power potential, matched to decent headers.

now I built my own custom system but this melrose system looks like an excellent option if your not into fabricating on of your own.
