No Hot Restart

Im starting this thread to help anyone experiencing no hot restarts. As we all know our first thought would be ignition. And even fuel injection. Both are real possibilities. A leaky injector can manifest its self this way as well as a failing coil. And/or ignition module. As well as intermittent electrical from bad grounds. In my case (c4 vette) after a recent head teardown. My car would start fine dead cold and run (like shit) for a few minutes then shutdown and..nothing crank, crank, crank. Let her sit an hour or 2. Fires right up. Turns out that my control module was. Bone dry underneath. In Tpi engines your ICM is notorious for burning up even on a good day. This can be tricky to diagnose. Because the basic checks at the distributor will show battery voltage. Turns out that i used the included di electric grease that comes with my module. DONT use this on your module. The right stuff is thermal compound, preferably the white stuff used to mount computer processors to their boards. Just a thin even coat. None should squirt out when you press the module in place. Its about heat transfer here not isolation. Save the di electric for your wire connections and plug boots. Anyway. Replaced module with thermal. Car started and restarted everytime! Carry on..
