I have a set of 373 in the rear with 265-50-15 on the back. Well I just change to a 275-60-15 and could tell a diff in power (loss). What would be the tire size for peak performance. I don't like a loss, so the tires have got to come off. Brand new tire's waste off money. I did not even think about it until it was to late. Didn't think it would make that much of a diff, but it sure did! Any tire suggestions?
If you want to buy and install larger than original wheels and tires on your car, you need the accurate measurements, so you won,t waste a great deal of time and cash,
Id also call tire rack, discount tire, etc. and other major on-line tire/wheel set vendors and ask questions (link below) they sell hundreds of corvette tires a month and would know by now what fits and what causes problems
it also helps if you accurately measure your current car wheel well , tites and wheel, and off set clearances internally in the cars wheel well, so youll know what your dealing with

you went from approximately a 24.5" tall tire to a tire approximately 28" tall, or approximately a 14% reduction in effective rear wheel torque
example the rpm at 70mph should have changed from about 3600rpm, to about 3150 rpm

the larger tires should give much better traction,better braking,and increased tire wear but you'll need to swap to a 4.11 rear gear to regain the acceleration, OR add about 15% to the engines power/torque, now it might be just me, but ID look into either the 4.11:1 rear gear or use this as a good excuse to do engine mods to reach that 15% more power , NOT go back to the smaller tires
