Ive had several times when guys have brought over rare or odd carbs or applications where the gaskets required are no longer available,
most hardware stores sell 6"x6" squares of rubberized gasket material about 1/16" or 1/8" thick thats got some type of fabric sandwiched into the sheet of gasket material for under $10 , even if its not exactly perfect its been used for hundreds of applications and mostly with some success. theres O-ring assortments that are dirt cheap that can at times pay for the whole box , just having a single o-ring handy , or making a FUEL PRESSURE DIAPHRAGM in an emergency is sometime a huge help, and theres plenty of discontinued tunnel ram intakes that you can,t find specific gaskets for any longer where fabricating your own with an exacto knife from sheet gasket material is the only option.
