Hello Grumpy members, my name is Robert from Ohio, we have a 90 Corvette vert. Learning how to troubleshoot , repair this car proving to myself I can learn new tricks.

if you willing to get your fingers a bit dirty and read a few links or watch a few videos you can most certainly,
make a great deal of progress in understanding how to repair and maintain your c4 corvette,
theres nothing you can,t repair or improve, don,t let anything overwhelm you, its all rather easily done.

THINK LOGICALLY< DON,T SKIP THE LINKS AND SUB LINKS
buy a CHEVY SHOP MANUAL FOR YOUR YEAR CORVETTE!
set and verify your ignition timing, pull trouble codes, set your tps and iac,, then check for vacuum leaks on the lines and intake, then get out your multi meter and verify all the sensors, chances are good its a defective heat sensor or defective o2 sensor, a logical step by step approach will lead you to the problem, youll be amazed at what youll learn reading links. use of a shop manual and multi meter can be very helpful

If you're learning to troubleshoot then I recommend you also learn how to use obd2 scanners since they are quite important to make your repair easier.

Welcome from Lexington, Ohio. I bought a brand new 68 Vette when I got out of the Army. 427, 400 horse, Tripower, 4 speed. $5280 bucks out the door. Of course , like everyone else, I immediately started modifying it.. :)

back in the 1980s I purchased a 400 hp 1968 tri-power oval port engine out of a wrecked, rear ended corvette for $1000
I had it about 6 hours when I got a phone call from a guy that wanted that exact engine ,
he tracked me down from the guy I bought if from, I half-jokingly said,
Ill let it go for $2k.... he asked to get my address, I said cash only!
he showed up about 1 hour later with the cash, so it went on down the road.....
I later realized it was worth considerably more ,
but hey, I was about 32, had two small kids, and a wife,
and that deal paid my mortgage for a couple months
