ole smokey....

i put my 350 in the s10 and here are my big problems so far...

i have an oil leak and cant figure where in the world its really coming from, tho it seems to be coming from somewhere around the oil filter boss(the cast above the filter...the block itself).

i have a fuel leak..i know where its coming from, but cant get it to stop no matter what i do.

its coming from the fuel line that goes to the carb.it seems to be the fitting that goes into the fuel pump.Ive tightend it as tight as i can get it now and no luck on it stopping.

now,i find out the my exhaust its self has blue smoke.i dont know if its the rings on the driverside havent fully seated yet or if its my valve seals. But it only smokes after the engine has warmed up..around 190* but not at 160*.After say...180* it starts..but not before. im puzzled by this cuz it seems to be related to engine temps as to when the exhaust shows smoke.

any help or ideas on what might be causing any of these problems, would be a great help.ive ran out of ideas and am goin crazy.

the truck has only been running for 3 days.

if you were local ID strongly suggest stopping by and ID be glad to help you out, but lets look at the problems here for now

"i have an oil leak and cant figure where in the world its really coming from, tho it seems to be coming from somewhere around the oil filter boss(the cast above the filter...the block itself)."

pull the oil filter and check the adapter, thats bolted in with two bolts that the filter screws too, they FREQUENTLY crack or get loose(most likely cause), the oil pressure sending unit near the distributor is suspect also, this link may help.

you'll probably need to replace BOTH the fittings and what they screw into, that could easily mean BOTH the manual fuel pump and the fuel lines that thread into it if the threads and seals are cross threaded or in some other way damaged, if you only replace one it screws up the threads on the new component

valve seals normally leak the most on high vacuum and rings on high cylinder pressure, the link below might help, also check your transmission vacuum line if you have one, a leaking modulator valve can cause that symptom, and check the PVC valve as that could be the source
