My neighbor has a 350 that he just had someone do some dress up on including intake, distributor and side dump exhaust headers.
He is having trouble getting it to run smooth and noticed the right side header is running much hotter than the left.
Is this a timing issue or could there be another factor?
Thanks!

just stop a second and start testing the more obvious potential reason,s and don,t assume a darn thing until you test and verify, a good infrared thermometer will quickly allow you to locate a non-firing cylinder,(s)
you failed to say if this is a carb or injected 350, but once the missing cylinder(S) are located Id also inspect the ignition and injector wiring ,check the firing order and check for a plugged catalytic converter and or look for issues with vacuum leaks or plugged carb jetting

theres also a chance if your running a stock exhaust that the intake heater valve in the exhaust manifold is stuck on some older cars

you might be amazed at the number of times , that simply stopping, dropping back to the basics, and inspecting, carefully verifying the function and installation of each component used leads to finding, isolating and correcting problems.
I recently had as neighbor install a 4/7 swap cam, who spend several hours trying to get his weekend toy to idle correctly, before he asked for my help, and mentioned, that he had verified the firing order several times, 1.8,4.3,6,5,7,2...........
only then to get this stupid grin, after telling me he had checked EVERYTHING SEVERAL TIMES! after realizing after fighting for several hours what the problem was..
