Okay guys, I'm starting to branch out a bit on mechanical work for van. Starting to look at the transmission. Early on I cobbled once I found out the mount was wrong. but there are two differences from what tranny is on, and whats supposed to be on.
This is transmission
basically I have a couple pieces of angle iron going from where the crosspiece mount is to where the transmission mount is. thats first point of difference. either transmission is supposed to be longer, or the mount point was supposed to be at the tail end itself.
Second point is a bit more obscure. Floor shifter, reverse indications are supposed to be plugged into transmission. no connection on any 3 speed I've found. Every manual transmission I've found has been identical. Same mount point, same cover plate, same leakiness, same "slightly" off mounting holes for shifter.
So the question is, anyone have info on a 3 speed manual that ought to work? I can shimmy up under to get actual dimensions if needed.
oh, and if any of you guys have a PERFECT tranny just lyin' around and wanna ship it my way free of charge, I'd love that. :lol:
