I bought my youngest (11) son a really nice pellet rifle for Xmas but it's very strenuous to cock this gun. He's lost interest but my daughter wants to use it but I must cock the gun each time for her - it's a pita. Does anybody make a pellet gun that is easier to use and can hold multiple rounds (this gun must be loaded one pellet at a time ) - another pita!

what brand and model and caliber?
yes it makes a very big difference ,and yes the better quality brands usually cost a great deal more, but they also tend to be more durable and accurate.

I know a few guys with these (RWS) and no one complains

Id also point out that theres an option, or two depending on what your tying to accomplish, theres a few quality BB guns on the lower end and you can certainly use CB caps in some 22 caliber rifles

The cost isn't really important, I mean, how expensive can a pellet rifle get?
The one I have is Rugar with a break barrel - which is very hard to pump especially for kids.
It's got great range at a reported 1750 ft per second. I forget if it is a .22 or a .177 but as I said before loading one pellet by hand at a time takes to long. It was $99.99 reg. $150.

that ruger air rifle has dozens of reviews stating it takes 42-50 lbs to cock it, since you would prefer a repeater you might want a co2 cartridge powered gon, so thats obviously a trade off but you should be able to sell the current rifle for 75%-85% of its original cost
heres a REPEATER that uses a C02 cartridge for power and gets up too 200 shots per co2 cartridge

That gun looks like it's young people friendly and over all I like this one. Am I missing something or do the CO2 guns have a lower max velocity than the barrel pump guns?
When I was a kid The county fair/carnival had a BB gun tethered to the counter and you would try to shoot out the star printed on a piece of paper for a 5 cent plastic kewpie doll. I seem to remember that BB gun was automatic rapid firing gun. The amount of BBs was never quite enough to cut out that star completely for most everyone. It might be fun to have rapid fire ability to change things up now and then, but who knows if they're even available

if you looked carefully the carnival paper target was a 3 layer paper with the center sheet having a thin partly linen paper with a larger red or blue star printed, thus it almost always resulted in bits of shredded linen paper star shreds still hanging, making it darn near impossible with the number of shots being fired.

yes the better pump guns do have higher velocity
