performance axles

if you race any car with serious horsepower, torque and decent tires the fact is the factory stock rear differential in most cars is on borrowed time, the stock components were never designed to withstand the shock loads you may be subjecting the differential too, the U-joints, axles and bearings and the ring and pinion gears , are all components that can and do fail, especially in the smaller differentials like the G.M. 10 bolt and DANA 36 designs
here is a partial list of component suppliers,(BELOW) Ive usually used MARK WILLIAMS and STRANGE parts in my axles and had good results, but I also usually use DANA 60 rear differentials, having learned early in my race career that most 10,12 bolt G.M. rears and even 8.8 for and 9" ford rears had problems in either my personal cars of friends cars
theres not much that will impress you as well of the need for a strong rear differential as having been driving in a car when the axle snaps on a hard shift, and you instantly change direction at speed,or have the axle exit the car,at speed, to make you fully appreciate a DANA 60 rear differential design and strength over some lesser strength rear differential
