Pontiac Wide Open World Of Youth 1966

Video was Interesting for me.
1966 Was the Last Year of Pontiac Tripower and was only available on the Pontiac GTO 389.
All other Pontiacs with 389 or 421 engines only came from the Factory with a 4bbl Carburetor or Economy 389 2bbl engines.
Tripower option was available on Pontiac from 1957-1966.
This Makes the 1965 Pontiac 2+2 Catalina 421 HO Tripower 376 Hp Engine The Most Powerful highest rated Hp Poncho till the 428 HO was Released.
1969 428 HO had 390 HP Found in Hrand Prix.

Pretty Kool how they Tortured the 1966 Pontiacs early on.
No Chevrolet Corvette could can take it Even todays C8.
Treat like an Off Road 4x4 Truck or Chevy Tahoe 4x4.
Just Too Fragile Delicate a Corvette it will fall apart.

I have every piece of the interior (and exterior trim) from a 69 2 + 2 Hurst optioned, and the crank, exhaust manifolds, distributor, oil pump and pan, balancer, flywheel and (all the seals, bearings valves, guides, springs and rockers every piece is Pontiac NOS still in factory packing) until last year I was hunting down everything to recreate the HO 428. I think now would be a great time to start selling on eBay.

I know where a 69 HO 428 Block, cam and carb sits, the seller wants $16,000 for everything.

Frank’s has a date correct (for me) intake, carb and radiator for another $3150. Plus they want an outrageous $600 packing and shipping to me.
It was another $900 for the cam but they “said” they dropped it, but coincidentally the next week the same photos for the cam and bearings appeared for sale on Butler’s web site for more than double the price.

Too much for a 428 HO.

Pontiac RAIV Most Powerful of all built .
440-460 HP True with Full Exhaust hooked up.
Way underrated at 370 Hp.
SD421 Around same till exhaust is dropped then near 500 Hp a little shy of.
