I purchased one for my corvette that size, 10' x 10' x 20' for keeping it out of direct florida sun-light and making it a bit more pleasant to work on the car as it provided some badly needed shade, it worked great for about 2 weeks....I felt Id made a great improvement and it was a real pleasure to work in compared to the open drive way..
I went to the trouble to set the vertical poles in concrete
,(SEVERAL 50 LB BAGS WERE USED)and I TOOK THE TIME AND EFFORT REQUIRED TOO duct tape all the joints, plus use dozens of bungee cords to hold the support frame together, but allow some flex...it was a waste of time and money, because the first wind & thunder storm shredded the fabric and bent all the poles, now IM not talking hurricane Im talking about the 30-50mph gusts you occasionally find with a common thunder storm, SO BEING THAT THOSE THUNDERSTORMS ARE COMMON I'D SAY THIS PARTICULAR TENT WAS POORLY MADE CRAP, and would be very reluctant to buy something similar again

I've been contemplating temporary shelters but been afraid that what Grumpy experienced would happen. Thunderstorms with very strong wind are frequent here. I really need a bigger shop area.

Although I need a bigger shop , I can't afford one at this time. Gotta figure out something else.

yeah! it took me 30 plus years of saving up to move and build my new home and shop, it sure ain't cheap and its not about to get cheaper either!
one of my friends pointed out the fact that he had kept a very close eye on costs of materials & labor while he saved to build his shop and rather rapidly came to the conclusion that in the long term, even if he financed the project, even with the then current higher interst rates it would still be cheaper than the cost would be paying cash by the time he could afford to go that route .

I have been looking at Kit garages Grumpy. You can customize the order.
Steel A frame Roof garages also.
Love to build a Super Garage like you have but it just won't happen anytime soon. Takes too large of a Budget.
Right now I am thinking of building a classic farm Lean to storage shed.
Add a plywood doors. Dirt floor.
Just for simple storage. They actually hold up very well where I am at even with 55-70 mph wind gusts or steady 50 mph winds.
No permits required . I am zoned agricultural here. Build what I want to.

two of the guys in this area have steel buildings that have been there for over 20 years, held up under hurricane wind loads and still look really nice, they cost less than 1/2 what a similar concrete block building cost to erect, and require far fewer contractors and permits, building inspections etc. and they get a significantly lower tax rate also.
they come as custom kits , you need a large concrete slab, and from what both guys say less than a week to assemble if you have 2-4 guys willing to help assemble.. hey its a valid option in some cases

I cant wait till Spring Grumpy.
Work on projects of my own.
The Lean To Shed I already have. Jusr add onto it. Cost be $500 or less.

2-Car garage makes sense right now.
Fit my needs. Still have my 1 car garage.
Smaller shop garage will be easy to heat in the winter and cool In the summer. Material costs stay down too.
I have lots of room like you. Build a bigger shop later.

Cinder block garages here are very Rare.
Most of these Farmers have Morton Buildings. Pole style construction.
Most are Huge Grumpy. Much bigger than yours. 40-50 feet wide x 100-150 feet long x 20-30 feet tall.
Tornado proof ? Not likely .

I've thought about setting up one of these temp garages for a paint booth inside of my shop. Keeps the overspray down within the garage and it'll help warrant off any dust. Even thought about putting some inlet filters and an exhaust filter with a fan to help vent it. If its a white canopy just shine your halogen lights at it to make it light up inside. Plus you can control the climate. At any rate it would be a lot cheaper and easier than a full spray booth.
