Rear defroster fix

First the antenna, now this, where does this end?
The rear defroster is connected on the same circuit as the heated mirrors, so when the rear defroster refuses to work all together, but not the heated mirrors, it gets interesting.

Had checked the grid lines and the connections before but couldn´t find any fault.
I put a test light between the ""lower" (when hatch opened) left and right connections, started the car and turned on the heater...
Test light on... hmmm...
Put a heavy gauge wire between lower left and upper left connection (jumper wire that replaces the left gas spring actually), and it started working.
OK then, I found where the fault lies.
Closed the hatch, it stopped working.
Opened it again, put a piece of wood between the hatch "hook" and the floor, disconnected the left gas spring
and started fiddling with that one.
The ends of a gas spring are screwed on the springs top and bottom.
When you take them of, you can sand them a little bit where the connection lip sits.
Put them back on, make sure they sit tight, so that the lip can hardly move.
Put everything together again, and enjoy a rear defroster that works again.
Provided that the grid lines are OK of course.

Knowing that not many use the defroster that much, but it´s always nice to have everything working.
