Rear Drum Won’t Come Off

I got one side off using 2 bolts screwed into the two holes on opposite sides of the hub. The drum is pretty thin, the holes on this side seem larger and stripped very easy. How can I get this off?

By the way these drums are on the Toyota. I seriously doubt they ever pulled the rear drums on any State inspection the shoes were so worn down. I tried backing down the adjuster through the slot in the back side. I don’t hear the gritty rusted shoes dragging but It still won’t budge. Heat didn’t work either.
I’m low on ideas, cut the drum? Pound out the wheel studs and just replace them afterwards?

It happens all the time stuck brake drums.
Spray the center pilot of the brake drum with penetrating oil.
If you want also spray penetrating oil between the brake drum and the backing plate.
Then I use an Engineers Mini Sledgehammer 4lbs have.
Smack hit the brake drum on the outer edge hard.
Sometimes it takes a dozen hard blows or more to free it up from the hub.
Mechanics prybar between the brake drum and backing plate helps to pry the brake drum off

I have had to use a 10 lb or 20 lb Sledgehammer to get some stuck brake drums and rotors off.
If you do that be careful can damage the car body easy swinging away.
Also depending upon the vehicle it may damage bend stuff.

It is how you Remove Semi Truck Brake drums. All are stuck here in Illinois use a 20 lb headed sledgehammer .
Sometimes swinging 1 hour nonstop get the MOFO Broken free.

Did I tell you Toyotas parts corrode get stuck bad from road salt winter time ?
Honda not so bad salt corrosion stuck tight issues, better Japanese steel used.

I just got a can of Free All after discovering it existed by your post earlier this week Grumpy.

The drum is so incredibly thin at the center, I’d bet it’s no thicker then 2 pennies stacked, just 2 or 3 threads around. The first side came off with the 2 screws, the other side wasn’t right from the start. I doubt very much retapping the holes would work so I won’t even try. I thought usually the shoes hold the drum but backing off the adjustment wheel moved the shoes in but nothing more.
Where or what usually holds the drum on? Can rust between the drum and the hub do it still after spraying penetrating oil around the stud bolts?

Grumpy, I do have the Benzomatic TS8000 button lighter on a cylinder of MAP gas. I didn’t think it would be hot enough. I sold my brazing equipment so I’ll give the MAP gas a try today.
