thanks! I knew it was something I was over looking!
yes thats looking good, what welder were you using, and assuming its a MIG do you remember the wire size and amp setting, and can you go into more detail about the welding and cutting and fitting process in that patched sheet metal?
am betting 0.025" wire.
Ive seen a few people changing roofskin, look like a nasty job. they where using ratcheting straps along with visegrip.

Your work look good so far :)

welder was 150 amp mig and 0.6mm wire. i used angle grinder and air hammer to cut old roof skin off, new one was easy to fit.
that rear fender patch was cut from the front fender.
i used flange tool and body hammers to fit it in the right place.
i used body lead to fill welds.
i take more pics, after i do the body and the paint work.

after you skip welded to stitch the patch into place so you would not heat warp the welded area, did you go back and continue stitch welding the unwelded edge until it was all welded or did you just leave it welded in short intermittent sections, Ive seen body shops go both routes , then they grind and bondo the welded area.
Ive always felt it required a full edge weld but have been assured if the welds are good only the stitching is required (But that sounds like a B.S. excuse for shoddy work in my opinion)

i tack weld 1-2 cm and then cool weld with air nozzle and continue until all was welded. Usa made body panels not warp easy

i do the same, i stitch weld all around, then i tack weld 3-4cm long then cooling with an air nozzle and i repear until i have a full seam of weld all around, i think most people are doing it this way around where i live.

thanks! thats a rather educational slide show, Im sure many of the guys will see a few tips or realize that they could improve after watching thru that!
