rebuild a th400 info

A few I have seen.
There are just about 1 million ways to build a Turbo 400.
Lots of options and opinions.

It's the Ultimate No Prep Drag Race Automatic TH400.

It's the Ultimate Poor mans Automatic for Race Use too Grumpy.
Got 2 I will build this year.

Can spend alot on upgrades but do not need to for 800- 1000 Hp Power Adder race use I anticipate for most.

Street use also.
3.23 diff gears make a TH 400 fully Highway use at modern cruising speeds up to 90 mph.
Over 100 3.08 gears.
Old Pontiac way factory and it works.

But No Prep track need drag gears.

like with most performance parts and applications the critical part of the build,
is generally in selecting the correct components for that particular application,
and in assembling those components correctly with the correct clearances.

its always a multi layered process,

you can,t expect sub-par or weak parts to withstand the shock and torque and rpm/impact loads.
you can,t also expect improperly installed or clearanced or insufficiently lubricated or cooled parts to last very long under loads.
obviously the process REQUIRES the person doing the work, or assembly to do some in depth research,
and have any tools or measuring devices that will be needed.

Actually use some modern 4L80E parts to improve at low cost.
1969-1971 best cores. Have all the goodies desired.
Hard to find and tags to identify covered in grease slime.
Cover sometime later.
