Removing Dulso from dash parts

It's time to redo the interior of my '95. I've already gone the route of replacing all of the dash and console panels that have the dull, rubbery finish (Dulso) that was applied by GM with new pieces. In a little more that a years time in South Florida sun and heat, the new pieces have started peeling while the center console panel finish has actually softened and has become sticky.

I'm tired of it and like I said, it's time to redo the interior. This time around, I want to go with custom painted dash and panel pieces. I've started to remove the Dulso form my old panels. It comes off easily where it began to peel, but is VERY stuborn to remove from other areas.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience in the removal of Dulso or if they have any ideas on what I might try, to make this job easier.
