renegade intake? for cross fires

The first 40 pins i even reviewed the wiring diagram to see where it routes, what it does and color, after that i lost interest... lol
Wow how many were there total?

Need pics of this connector to appreciate all the work you went to complete in a nice and orderly fashion ! ;)

I think nearly 60 pins, I'll snap pictures, i had to extend some of the wires due to different lengths between the two plugs that had to be extended.

If possible I'll also post my bin for anyone needing it.

(On my mobile now, enjoying a nice beer break asi i fix the neighbors mowers lol)

my armpits hurt for a week after lol

and my wife wanted to go for a nice drive the next day, so I rushed the computer into position and reinstalled the kick panel.
I'll pull it again soon, I still have not completed running wires for the other options...

I also ran into an issue with my daily driver, waiting on parts for it so the vette has been rushed into service.

I have an upgraded radiator in the vette now, runs much cooler now.

I also drive this car like a total dbag :)
good times!

When I did mine I was lying in the back of my 82 with a crimper, soldering iron and two papers with the pin outs on them, lol. I love the ability to custom tune though, so for me it was worth it!

Yeah... I pulled my seat thinking that's what would be required, luckily i found i could sit on the ground with my armpit over the c4 frame, legs under the door ect.

Back got pretty sore, and i did not notice the armpit pain until the next day lol

Beem fighting a weird idle, found my base idle raised randomly, so i lowered and re-adjusted the tps.

Much better, however I'm doing my throttle shaft bushings this weekend...

For tuning, have any experience with wideband o2 sensors?

I'm noticing my ve learns are going pretty flat, wondering if maybe my long tubes are fkn with me... Maybe i need to go heated O2?

If you have long tubes, Heated O2 is a must. Otherwise you go in and out of closed loop as the O2 sensor cools and heats up, plays hell with VE learns.

Thanks, I have a heated O2 on order.

For wiring I found this, I also used as a guide for what one to buy:
http://sethirdgen.org/HO2S.htm

3-wire Heated Oxygen Sensor: 25176708
3-wire Weatherpack Connector: 12126012

You will notice the sensor has two white wires and one black. The white wires can be interchanged, polarity does not matter. One must go to a good clean ground, either on the body or the engine block, and the other must go to a 12V switched ignition source (Power w/ the key in the "RUN" position). Many people tap into the MAF power wires if you have a MAF sensor, but any "hot" wire in RUN only will work. It can't be HOT all the time, or you will drain your battery.
The black wire goes to the stock PURPLE wire that originally went to your one-wire Oxygen sensor. This is the signal wire to the ECM.

I have not had a chance to do much, spent the weekend doing some very long overdue work on my s10, then my neighbor whom is a hvac tech, brought a cooler of beer and some upgrades for my furnace.

I did get my new o2 sensor soldered up into a new weather pack connector, but not much else.

I also nearly rearended another car on the freeway on friday, traffic came to a sudden stop and it took almost all of my weight to stop the car.

I have noidea if this is how brakes were in 1984 or if i have an issue, however i do know i could smell by brake pads.

So i have a c5 front brake setup on order, front calipers, brackets, rotors, and pads.
I also have some 9mm thick mild steel stock on order for the conversion brackets.

I also have a full set of c5 wheels waiting on a new set of tires to ensure i can fit the new brakes.

I also found my self doing 115 during the week, but i backed off before i hit the powerband...

Brakes are at the top of the list now... ;)

As part of the brake upgrades, some new pretty wheels being test fit.
I picked these up for $300, near mint condition with some worn out tires.

They offered to remove the old tires, but I opted to keep them on to help me with tire size selection.
Used a set of 1in spacers, I plan on replacing the studs with some ARP ones later on.

the wheels look to be in very good condition and a screaming bargain at $300 a set!

Here is a crosswalk that I made from Dynamic EFI's text document and 82 wiring schematics. The 84 should be similar. :)

The left hand box is the 82 Vette card reader connectors. Each one has the connector number, a dash, and then where it goes to for EBL.

The right hand box is EBL's connector. It has the crossfire harness location, a dash, and where it is going to.

In either case, the charts also show the wire colors.

NOTE: If you add an IAT sensor, use C12 on the EBL PIN OUT.

Hope that made sense and that it helps!

Thats a very well done document!

I used the sheet sent to me by Bob of DEFI, and then used the factory wiring supplement book to trace and verify each wire as i assembled.
I do believe i may have a connection or two that did not crimp as well as i expected.

The one connector that failed on me i took apart to look over and i could see no error made in the crimp.

I have now resorted to removing the weather pack tubing from my connectors soldering the connector after crimping and then reinstalling the shrink tube.

I did that with the heated o2 sensor and so far it's working great.

I also completed the install of the new brakes, now the car stops like a modern car with a bit of added braking power.
