Grumpy, my garage shop doors 7 ft tall and 16 feet wide,
the spring that holds the doors weight broke, how hard is it to replace?

pictures would help, home depot and ebay and amazon all have fairly cheap and decent quality parts,
Id suggest you contact the local vendor for your brand of garage door,
and take accurate measurements and write down and part numbers you can find,
most garage doors have a vendor sticker and phone number
the springs are not that hard to replace and don,t cost a great deal,
you can get the required tools cheaply,
youll obviously need a decent ladder and winding bar or two and a friends help.

but you may want to call a garage door company for the parts and replacement labor,
if your not familiar with the deal
