Hey all,

As I mull this over and consider what I am looking for, I am expecting that KG to have significant rust. Soooo, before I can repair any panel, other than bringing the entire body (that lifts off in one piece to a media blaster - which is an option) is there some other way to get the paint and rust off? Like a chemical stripper?

Or should I just have it blasted and be done with it?

planning, planning, planning...

Duh!!!!!! Of course!!!!! Why didn't I think of that RENT a sand blaster!!!!!!

DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SInce these are large parts (an entire car body that lifts off) I presume sandblasting is the most efficient.

Won't sand distort the metal from heat? Media blast is what I really should be doing - then washing and sealing.

Sand blasting will warp thin sheetmetal body panels.
Plastic blasting media much safer.
Or oven dried baking soda.

Summit Racing sells all diferent types of blasting media.
Last purchased crushed walnut shells from them.
