selecting a cam, for your street strip car...

I constantly get asked to select cams, and thats fine!
but if youve done the research and narrowed down your choices,
theres a few factors to consider,
(1) a car that has few problems tends to be more fun that one you can,t depend on!
(2)winning REQUIRES FINISHING THE RACE
(3)most of us can,t AFFORD to constantly replace or adjust parts
(4) most of us use or cars for transportation at least occasionally
, and it SUCKS being stuck on the side of the road!

IVE always preferred to select the milder cam, when your in doubt in many cases , if the cars basic use is for transportation, because when your dealing with, because 99% of the guys that tell me they use the car about 50%/50% , or 30%/70% or 80%/20% etc, actually spend the VAST majority of the time driving on the street.
now obviously if the only street use is in the car being used driving to the track thats a different deal, but as an example one of my neighbors has a 455 GTO that he swears is a 80% street and 20% strip car, I know he drives the car on the street at least a few days a month, and he has not been to the track in several years, and hes FAR from alone!
