All:

I have a 1950 chevy resto with a sbc in her. I have purchased some budget heads and plan on installing a new intake to mate with them. I want to go with airgap and im leaning toward edelbrock RPM Air-Gap Intake Manifold 75014. The heads are RHS pro action 12053 (Budget I know.) The cam is mild compcam 12-242-2 or part cs xe268h-10.

Will this above intake work with this setup? I have all my gaskets and everything ready to go except for pushrods (have to measure) and the intake. Thoughts would be appreciated.

the plenum on the air gap STYLE intake is designed to run at cooler temperatures to allow a cooler and denser fuel/air mix to produce a bit better power, but it also results in a slightly longer warm-up , when fuel is cool and air is cool the fuel tends to vaporize noticeably less and its that vapor that burns, raw liquid gas won,t burn well compared to vapor.
stock intakes without the insulating air gap under the plenum tend to boil fuel that lands on the hot plenum floor surface , thus more burnable vapor but at the cost of a noticeably leaner fuel/air ratio in some cars.
unless you live where air temps drop below about 50F the airgap intake runs fine it just takes about 12-14 minutes to reach full operational temps where it works as its intended too.
that difference in design can easily give you an extra 8-12 peak hp but a bit less cold temp drive-ability. until the intake plenum warms to the point it easily vaporizes liquid fuel
the WIEAND VERSION LINKED TOO , IS A BIT LESS EXPENSIVE AND WORKS RATHER WELL IN MY EXPERIENCE ON THE MILD SBC

PERSONALLY ID SUGGEST THIS INTAKE IN THAT APPLICATION
