Separate Paths through One Cat?

yes the design of a catalytic converter with more than a single inlet & outlet exhaust

OK! Even if the inlets are mixed before the honeycomb, it's a good starting point for welding in divider plates on both ends. Not a quad cat, but with 360 headers, one on each side would give that.

just a question, why would you want to go that route?
a single inlet cats bound to be less expensive , obviously you could fabricate the exhaust pipe diam, and routing as required

You could split it out the back of the car Vintage Ferrari & Lamborghini style.
4 Monza Tail Pipes.
My 87 Corvette was like that when I bought it.
had a now vintage Walker Super Dynomax kit with 4 outlet tailpipes, Muffler eliminator kit.
Drove my Vette so much the aluminized steel all rusted away.
Kinda miss it sounded real nice & mellow at idle & got loud WOT.
Also had an integral exhaust crossover pipe.

180 degree headers the sound should still be there.
They sound like nothing else running.

You mixed your exhaust into two paths. I want four. Stahl 360 headers with each pair feeding a cat like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/70533-East...er-Standard-2-Dual-Pipe-12-Body-/172004440974
would give true quad exhaust. Did your 180 degree headers have to cross banks?
I never had 180 degree headers.
Supposed to work nice Road racing.
Ok for narrow power band drag racing I have heard.

C4 Gen Corvettes have a Long Y-pipe layout stock.
Each leg near equal length.
Fed into a large 3 inch single main pipe to Inlet of main Cat & out 3 inch.
Then split off to another Y pipe to the pair of mufflers mounted rear bumber.

No one ever knew it was really single exhaust but me when I had the Walker Monza Muffler eliminators.

Are you planning to run or use mufflers or none at all ? Just Twin Cats with 4 chambers ?

Many types of mufflers made.
Some sound Drag race.
Others Euro sounding from a V8.

Yes, I'd use four bullet glass packs, mounted right behind he cats to allow the most resonance possible behind.

I guess I need to say that I don't have the V8 car, just theorizing.
