Separate Paths through One Cat?

I've been wondering about what 180 degree headers were, until I saw a picture. they are the four 360 degree headers with each side pairs joined together.

Famous Road racers used them in the past.
They also reduced ground clearance.
I have heard of guys using them in Vintage Ponly Musclecars & snagged them on potholes & sewer cap lids.
Both banks of 180 degree headers ripped off the car instant.

Herb Adams the father of the Trans Am used them SCCA Road Racing I recall tonight.

Most Famous Current 180 degree headers custom built on Facebook Racing Groups present.
From SEMA 2018 Las Vegas.
1970-1/2 Pontiac Trans Am.

Made my own 1970-1/2 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Red Hot again.

WHAT A BUNDLE OF SNAKES! Should reverse the intakes and exhaust and run the headers out the middle. Shorter distances to mate 180 pairs.

It was some guys dream build.
Supposedly it makes 1000 HP @ 10,000 RPM.
Who knows.
Streets, Dragstrips, & Road race tracks prove all.
If You line up and Race a Dodge Demon, or Hellcat & Win the BS stops.

Seems if you want to stroke your engine, you could install a flat plane crank , (have to replace the crank, anyway) and maybe OHC heads, and have each bank firing like a flat plane four, with the left bank firing 2, 6, 8, 4, at 180 degree intervals, simplifying your 180 degree header routes by keeping them on the left side, and the right bank firing 1, 5, 7, 3 at 180 degree intervals, (90 degrees after their crank pin mates), for a firing order of 1-2-5-6-7-8-3-4, again, keeping the 180 degree header pipes all on the right. (maybe the right bank firing would be 7, 3, 1, 5, for 7-2-3-6-1-8-5-4, but still all the 180 firings would be on a side. I'm trying to do this all in my head, so I may be off on the flat plane firing orders, but not the 0-180-360-540 positions.

Yeah, a lot of work for sound.
Need $$$$$.
Big Dreams just cost $$$$$$$$$.

I had to pick something semi practical.
Found Sunoco Race Gas local for $6.999 per gallon at a gas station.
Going for High Octane Big 455 Pontiac V8 RAIV top end ( All Real worth over $18k today),
Isky Solid Race Cam...
Blah Blah but best going in !

sorry the previous link did not work correctly, I was pointing out the new reverse center flow exhaust heads

I see. Pretty interesting. Even without the turbo chargers, the 180,or 360 headers would be much simpler.

There is a problem trying to make a Hot V engine from a traditional V8.
The Intake ports flow more than exhaust side on near all.
To set Exhaust to Intake Ratio.
