The recent deal I made to sell all that I had as a package deal returned with an interesting offer. In the deal I made I offered to finish the work I started on 2 of the cars, one was about my un-explainable attraction I had for the 68 Pontiac. The collector made me an offer on the Pontiac. He and his partner had been repeatedly offering deals for a completed motor I bought from Butler years ago that was well documented with receipts outlining meticulous care for long term storage. My thoughts were on installing it in a 1965 GTO body I once owned but it was cursed and plagued with trouble far beyond what I could ever imagine and that is long gone now. A 1972 T-37 was next in-line as a recipient for that motor but I flipped that car for a quick buck some time ago. And lastly was a 73 Trans Am that I believed was a SD without a drivetrain, but that was proven to be fraudulent as VIN identification numbers were doctored and I was taken to the cleaners for that deal. It became a run of the mill 6 cylinder Firebird that looked too good.

So forward to this morning at 7:15 am a flatbed came rolling up my driveway all prepared with a dolly on wheels for the Butler crate and I’m waiting for later today when another trailer is coming with a salvage yard find from North Las Vegas, a rare 1968 2 + 2 Ventura coupe with a 428 HO and Hurst Performance package. I bought this a while back and just wore out my welcome over picking it up. It looks like only a complete idiot would buy such a mess.
It wasn’t a desert car like most would like, it was a Nebraska car for its first 25 years. So it has enough rust that would scare away anyone not considered retarded. I bought it for the bits and pieces that could make a base convertible into something really rad! Did I really say “Rad?” I have Cliff Ruggles helping me with this project which excites me enough to move forward.

Grass won’t grow underneath this car!
