Shelf Life Of A Rebuilt Quadrajet Carb

I donated a carb that was rebuilt professionally 4 or 5 yrs ago and never used since. I never thought twice about the shelf life until the recipient of this carb began asking questions. When I asked the guy who rebuilt the carb he said the accelerator pump is going to be bad and the dried fuel will be blocking the various passages in the carb.
In my opinion I think the extreme was taken answering my question. Originally when that carb came back to me rebuilt it was dry, not even a drip or any smell. I didn’t think there was any gas left from testing.
The recipient is not a mechanic by any means and I already promised this carb didn’t need a rebuild.

I need some ideas on what easy steps can be done - ie; flushing with a cleaner that will dissolve any dried fuel and how to test for a bad pump (I really don’t believe a quality pump could go bad in this exact circumstance).

I don,t use quadrajets much,
but Ive installed a rebuilt holley 850 4 barrel carb, that was rebuilt, then kept in a ziploc bag for over 23 years, and it ran ok after it was adjusted

This carb was already tuned so while sitting static all settings should remain.

If I had access to this carb I would likely break it down and flush it out, I’m just not that sure on how well the accelerator pump held up or the life it has left.

Personally I say it should be fine and the rebuilder guy is too extreme. Just curious for more opinions.
