that top cross piece is available in several lengths, from the manufacturer ,as is the post height,or you could rather easily custom make or modify the cross piece so the posts can be set in different increments apart.
obviously the base can be anchored to match and cables extended or lengthened as a bit more cost, but this current spread has worked ok, if Id had know about the choices Id have had an additional 8"-10"in width added so I had about 10 ft, or a bit more between, the posts, but like I said it worked OK

most lifts list the dimensions, the lift I bought I see is no longer listed, but it uses twin hydraulic rams and a chain drive and connecting cables
and was rated at 9000 lbs, its got a large base plate on each column and 8 3/4" bolts in each base into the concrete

My lift is completely different in operation - Hydraulics. If I want to increase the space I just have to add to or shorten the 3/8" hydraulic line on top. there are six very large/long anchor bolts to hold the columns. My lift is about 50% more in weight than yours so it's a pita to move by yourself, you have to walk the columns.

These are the best lifts in the world - no other lifts come close. Even the Secrete service uses Mohawk for the Pres. cars and SUVs.

Ben Pearson's 9000SI Two-Post
Solid features separate this lift from the pack

The Mohawk was a no-brainer and glad I had the money a couple of years ago because there was no second pick. The main features - it can be installed in low ceiling garages. Lifetime warranty on parts and 25 years on everything else. There is no wearable parts - no plastic guide blocks, no hoses, no maintenance. Double security safety release. Mine is equipped with a weight gage, I not only use it for pretty accurate weighing but I can let the weight rest on the safety stops and know that I'm absolutely free from any mishap by looking at the zero weight on the gage. I have the run-way feature so I can lift up any tractor or commercial mower. Built in air and water supply with dual dryers (with standard replaceable filters) quad outlets for needing 110 V and 1 - 220 V. All I need now is a candy dispenser and I'm set.
