solid fixture here in the forum
Grumpy I was looking through Rock Auto for a slave cylinder for my 94 F-150& I`m going to buy a clutch kit too because I have to drop trans to change slave cyl. in all the years working on my cars I have never had to change a clutch or transmission I priced a clutch kit & slave cyl. With bearing I`m thinking this is the throwout bearing . Then for the hell of it I went on a local site to price everything there & this is where it gets confuseing at Advance auto 9 out of 10 reviews of their slave cylinders are bad everywhere from leaks to weak springs to haveing to change it 2to3 times to get a good one . Some are suggesting to buy one from Ford & some suggest buying a rebuild kit what is your opinion on Rock Auto stuff the part# areSH6024 for slave &K003005 for clutch kit & would this be all I would need to complete job

So much is manufactured in China today as replacement parts. Performance speed parts too.
I try & avoid all.
The Dorman brand & parts line are trust worthy.
Napa Auto parts are good too.
OEM FORD, GM, & CHRYSLER Excellent but can be expensive.
Have to search hard for made in the USA.

I really can,t tell you anything about those components as Ive never used them, I do see that parts SH6024 K003005 are available from several sources if you google the numbers, and the cost varies quite a bit.
most of the less expensive parts listed by rock auto and advance auto are obviously not OEM quality, but if you look carefully both do offer better options at higher cost in most part applications

I noticed Rock Auto does sell a dorman slave cyl.

Make sure it has a Warrenty.
Dorman from Rock Auto would be my choice then.

I don't know...
Who has the Best Warrenty ?
All Band names that have been around for some time.
Any say made in the USA ?
Impossible to know but how a Master cylinder, wheel cylinder, brake caliper, or slave cylinder is machine & finished honed is important to longevity.
Diamond Honed is best. Gives most accurate sizing & ultra low RA finish.
How GM & Ford did it OEM Since 1980-81.
Read it in a 1980 Pontiac Trans Am service manual many years ago.

Usually I hear names like Fue Man Shu, Ying Yang Sung, Bin Yun Fung, & then Dorman.....
No Steve......Give Me the Dorman Part Please.
Talking to the parts guy at NAPA on the phone.
