I am going to be removing my smog pump today. Curiuos what everyone who has done it has done about the diverter valve on the manifolds. I was thinking find a steel threaded cap to replace it on the tube. I am going to be 40 min from a town to go back to to get parts so hopefully someone can tell me what to do on that before i get out there. Should i get the big rubber ones or fig out a better way for now. Plan to install headers soon so dont want to pay someone to weld the ind. tubes closed

I know how to weld, have built quite a few cars just left it all when i got divorced 12 yrs ago and this is first vehicle Ive done anything to since. Have no power tools at all anymore and living situation no where to keep hence why my vette is 40 miles from me at this time being housed on my parents old farm. yes there is a stick welder there too btw lol. just in case i decide for some reason to return to stock dont want to get rid of tubes.

I fully understand why you might choose to go that route

We are all Veterans here to impossible situations.
I live on a 5 acre farm too.
It's quiet.
Ok to stay online 24/7/365 A days here.

I went ahead and took all equip off had cousin who is electrician bring me some caps that would fit on the pipes off the manifolds. where the two diverter valves go
. Looks great without all that clutter under the hood much less the irritating noise of the failing bearings in the pump.

Ill try to get some this weekend when im out there, son graduation is today so not sure if will make it out befre tuesday to the car
