Something Fishy Is Going On . . . .

I started detailing my Vette on Friday, early this morning while it was relatively cool out I decided to turn the car around and detail the rear. I found a box containing NOS Tail light lenses never opened from GM and was debating whether to use them on this car when I noticed a 7”” vertical gouge left of center on the rear face. Someone made an attempt to repair this, I didn’t notice this until the morning sun hit the tail and it looked like a spill at first (I was polishing some chrome with a coffee cup in my left hand the other day, need I say more?)
The half-ass repair isn’t level with the surrounding surface and it’s a little discolored. I know every inch of my cars so It’s not something that got past me. The odd part - no one in my family would give a shit if they did something to one of my cars. My son would outright lie about it, my wife would say “just get it fixed and stop crying about it!” And my daughter would deny knowing that car was ever there to begin with! That leaves the movers last fall and fumbling fool from the insurance company that tripped over his shadow in the garage several times taking pictures in January. All this car has is some tiny bug bites on the edges of the T tops that I was in the process of touching up and another tiny stone chip on the front nose - that’s it.

Was the gouge filled in with nail polish? If so, that points to a girl as the culprit.
Although, the way the world is now, maybe it's this guy/girl/trans-something???
