im not sure what it came from, what year, or size. the only things i know are it has aluminum heads that used a different style of intake(the intake ports on the head was about3" tall and 1 1/4" wide, it had factory roller rockers , very short valve covers, and a concave flywheel. i think it should be in the 2003-2007 range?(maybe 5.3). i pulled the push rods and they work perfect in my motor but they are not hardened so i need to order hardened ones. i think they are around 7.385, but just trying to be sure. any help would be appreciated.

We'll get to the bottom of this, Sounds like an LS1, does your engine look like this..http://www.superchevy.com/features/nova ... o_07.html.. But not that pretty I'm assuming, or like this...http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthr ... 8479...you can hunt for the vin# on the engine, you should really measure for your pushrods, if your off even .025 off your valves may not close all the way, and you will get a no-start, noisy valvetrain is also a concearn as well as premature wear, its really depends on the cam your using and dont forget about preload! Lets figure out what you have first and what engine its going into.

i been doing some checking and i think you are right on, i think it's the ls-1. the motor that i got the pushrods out of didnt hve anything but block and heads so it doesnt exactly look like that one lol. i think the pushrods are considered 7.4 but maybe actually measure a little shorter, i just need ones that are hard(im running pushrod guides on my motor).

The 7.4 and the 7.385 are DIFFERENT size push rods, What engine are you building? If I were you I would get the rest of that Short-block, you can do a-lot with those engines, Givin the relative inexpense, I would go buy the pushrods you want for your engine build your doing now, then you get exactly what you want/need. put those pushrods back into the Ls1 and slowly rebuild it, then you have a wicked powerplant for your next Rod. Give us some engine specs on what your building....

If your ordering any cam, be very sure you explain what year block and what cylinder heads will be used as there are differences in the cams. between early and later SBC, block s and the cams they require, and on big blocks theres similar issues, a mark VI cam is different from a MARK IV cam
