supercharge your what?

only $650...for all that?
it would costme $700 for a baisic rebuild here.lol
if i wanted to make a trip to gainesville florida,i know a guy who said he would put high-performance clutches/bands,hardened sun shell(monster),extra clutches and bands in my...i thing he said 3-4 clutch pack, and something else.....oh yeah,a corvette servo.all i would have t do is put the shift kit in myself(i can do that).all that(sbtract the shift kit) for (at that time=1 year ago) $400.

how does that sound? would i need more?

Well, I was excluding from he cost the torque converter.

You can shop around for rebuild kits - some come with steels. These are helpful to get your clearances just right.

The wide band and servo are important

Heat is the greatest destroyer of transmissions. Brute toque rarely does it.

You want the shifts, quick, clean and holding. Any "flare" builds heat and ruins your steels and frictions. A shift kit will make your shifts snappy preventing flaring. The pressure regulator will increase clamping pressure to further reduce the risk of dragging clutches.

The wide band and the large servo do the same thing - more friction surface and higher clamping pressure. Again, you got to clearance properly.

A stock stator support (very often replaced) can shear. That is one part of this trans that is sensitive to brute torque.

If you cavitate under heavy acceleration and your fluid level is right or a bit over, then you may need a deep pan. Basically, you are sucking air on hard acceleration as oil moves to the back of the pan away from the pick up. Pressure drops and you get flaring. Not good.

The third friction conversion is easy. I reused an old friction - 4th hardly wears - and trimmed the piston in lathe. A no-buck conversion with satisfying results. That is the ONLY place you need an extra friction.

's about $650 isn't it?

As for custom rebuild, I have heard horror stories. Make sure you get a warranty. A $400 rebuild seems suspicious to me.
