swapping from flat tappet to roller cams

Hi all,
I've got a number of engine projects in the works. I've thought about building them up and putting them in some project cars. I've biuilt a number of small blocks (and big blocks too) and swore that I was done with solid tappet lifters and cams. How much experience does everyone have with swapping to retrofit roller setups. I know the cost is more bbut after having to go through a couple of different motors, rebuilding because of wiped lobes... What's everyone using for manufactureres...

Thanks,

theres obviously several areas where the differences in the components mater but if you can read carefully youll have very few problems.
several hours spent reading this info could save you months of problems and thousands of wasted dollars, and just for a tip, I,ve found CRANE,CROWER,ERSON, to be where I buy most components

Grumpy do not leave out Morel they supply allot of the manufactures with there lifters. This is a no skimp zone in my opinion. The swap to Roller done properly is a larger investment then most may think. Again we are talking to do it properly. Solid Roller lifters are rebuildable and need to be a schedule maintenance item. The flat tappet is still a bang for the buck option spend money for good lifter and a good cam core is a must. You will still probably be half the cost of a decent set of roller lifters. Thoughts to include are springs!! If you run a flat tappet stick with the proper oil also. Too many variables for different engines also.
