I have an old friend local that has a partial finished AR15.
Ghost.
Not done.
He knows guns pretty well too.
I know everything is on Grumps somewhere in his Archives for

Brian, its just not that difficult, YOU BUY A STRIPPED RECIEVER
ID strongly suggest a 16"-20" stainless heavy barrel and a high quality bolt assembly
as those parts are critical and the heavy barrel is less likely to over heat, (yeah its heavy)
and a lower receiver and collect as many mill spec parts as you can that match the barrel diam and length,
or

a complete kit of parts, building an AR clone is ADULT LEGGOS

a well though out AR heavy barrel allows you to open coke cans sitting on a fence post,
out at 400 yards on the first shot, that skill
could be helpful if you needed to dissuade some idiot from burning your home down,
at a considerable distance if SHTF,
something you can,t do with a 22lr
but Ill stick to coke can destruction, and a few coyotes, and rats at the local dump, until society fails

For my money Grumpy I'll stick with the 10mm I'm sure there are calibers that hit harder and travel faster and those who say theirs are better but for my 2 cents worth I'll keep my 10mm until I can be convinced that someone has something that they can prove all around that its a better round and part of the blame on that is your fault LOL

I'm dusting off my old 30-06 for deer season this year I couldn't decide what to use so I decided to take the old girl out for a date I say old but I bought it about 10 years ago but have managed an upgrade every year since but this year I couldn't find anything that I couldn't live without so I'll start to recycle guns until I find that gun that I can't do without I'm cleaning and prepping some brass now but I didn't realize how low I was on 30 caliber bullets and there is not a real big selection out there

yeah, thats why I carry a 10mm and a spare mag... there's nothing I've yet found that provides a better matched combo of power,
penetration, accuracy and capacity than a 10mm with at least a 10 shot capacity.
while its not a huge jump over the better pistols using plus p 45 acp , its a significant enough jump to make a noticeable difference.
btw if you watched the short video, you noticed the abysmal penetration the 45 super ammo had, that would be vastly improved with some other projectile choices, and Id even have gone hard cast over that boutique ammo
