The Eaa Witness Pistols

Yes, I changed the guide rod and main recoil spring,
but I tried both main recoil springs and there was little difference

be aware the stock /OEM recoil spring guide rod the spring is on,
is PLASTIC and well known for failing if over heated
and the stock spring is a flat wire, which is fine
where many aftermarket springs are higher quality flat or round wire, or stronger,
which can cause reliability issues if underpowered ammo is used
like most recoil springs,

they come in 19lb, 20 lb, 22lb and 23 lb versions from some manufacturers
you ideally want the highest load rate thats 100% reliable with your ammo
be aware not all guide rods are interchangeable between gens

Grumpy whats your opinion of threaded barrel on a pistol my opinion is if I have a threaded barrel for a gun than I want it on a real gun (rifle) not a thing wrong with a pistol but in "THAT"situation I want a rifle but so far I can't find a 6 inch barrel for my G-20 I do have a couple other pistols that are threaded and all they do is the caps keep coming loose but it is hard right now to find a part for any gun

just a bit of info I was asked why I prefer a 10mm vs a 460 rowland / glock conversion,
of course accurate and rapid and ,
at times repeated accurate shot placement
and a knowledge of your opponent's anatomy

is required in ANY defensive use!
it doesn,t matter what you carry,
if you can,t shoot it fast and accurately

you can upgrade a glock 45 acp to shoot the custom 460 Rowland cartridge
its certainly a step up in power to about 41 mag revolver power,
the 460 conversion offers certainly more than a 10mm,
but it's hard on the Glock converted,
and you'll eventually have reliability issues in spite of what you read.
If you look hard you'll find examples,
but keep in mind many people who convert these guns don,t shoot them all that often
if you want more power in a defensive gun I don,t see the potential advantage,
as a 10mm with the correct ammo has repeatedly been demonstrated to kill even large bears,
and it will certainly shoot deep enough in a human opponent,
to prove lethal with good shot placement, certainly,
you don,t need more than the 10mm glock power level or more mag capacity
and you have a 15 shot mag capacity,
If I was hunting big bears a heavier hard cast bullet from a 7.5" or longer barrel revolver,
that packs considerably more power,
in a caliber like, 44 mag-480 ruger, 460 S&W or 500 S&W revolver makes more sense

human opponents won,t require nearly as much power to disable

460 Rowland is a lengthened, heavy duty . 45 Auto based case designed by Johnny Rowland.

Picked up a Rock Island Ultra in 10mm today its a 1911 with a double stack mag 16 rounds the trigger feels nice dry firing but it will see the range tomorrow and test run it range report to follow

a couple pictures of the pistol and more info on the general,
cost ,size weight, barrel length, finish options, etc. would be a huge help

The pistol is a standard size 1911 with a 5 inch barrel its a fancy model with different grips and a parkerized finish the Rock Island is made by Armscore I have a couple other pistols 1911s made by them one is a real cheap one 350.00 a few years ago its not fancy but all it does is shoot and I will put it up against my most expensive 1911 (Colt) @ 1500.00 any day I also have one a Para Ordnance Expert that was around 600.00 when I got it this new one was 700.00 + but if its as good as the other 2 I will be happy range report and hopefully pictures to follow

I finally got a 6 inch barrel for my Glock 20 it is a Lone Wolf fluted bbl everything looks good perfect fit so I'm going to the farm tomorrow to try it and my 3 muzzle loaders with real black powder and see how it goes I'm starting low and working up my loads except for the 45 caliber pistol that I've never fired going to start at 20 on it the other pistol I got is a 3 inch bbl with no caliber markings it even looks like I dont want to fire it

Those are Big Handguns Grumpy to conceal carry for most smaller than you.
Bought a few 9mm Handguns myself earlier this year.
Like Smith and Wesson.
Rock Island Armory.
CC style 13+1. 15+1 magazines made for both.
Smith and Wesson I like the most.
Always carry now.

I like my Sig 365 a lot better than the Hellcat I have a Springfield 10mm that has a decent trigger but the one on the Hellcat I don't care for

Need to buy more.
Been looking at AR15's.
.223 .556.
We all know what happens 2020-21 still going on.

Handguns to me are more practical close range, pick instant.
Make judgment call to use Shoot or not.
Also a Deterrent.

Brian if you want an AR build your own dollar for dollar you can build one 2x as good for the same money and its not hard at all you will only need a couple speciality tools and you're good to go

I am not that Handy with Firearms building.
Using a Gunsmith an option

Brian, its just not that difficult, YOU BUY A STRIPPED RECIEVER
YES YOU CAN USE A GUNSMITH IF YOU GET STUCK AND NEED HELP
ID strongly suggest a 16"-20" stainless heavy barrel and a high quality bolt assembly
as those parts are critical and the heavy barrel is less likely to over heat, (yeah its heavy)
and a lower receiver and collect as many mill spec parts as you can that match the barrel diam and length,
or

a complete kit of parts, building an AR clone is ADULT LEGGOS
