The last project

Big Block Chevy.
454 ci.
Sounds better than LS X Running.
Want Pizzaz it has.
No doubt but I have to stay (for now) with what I see brings more. PS, sadly I can get my hands on a long block '68 Corvette 427 for peanuts, but I'm compelled to stick with the plans unless it appears the budget will be blown.

I really need an opinion about this engine. Generally speaking this is what I need but I'm trying to figure whether this can save me some money or kick my ass. Can you guys offer up some ideas as to what may have happened for the discription given, can it be catastrophic? What about the price?

Please ignor this post. Pictures on CL wasn't up when I linked the post. It looks like it was fished from the lake!

I still would like to know what happened to the "Edit" button?

Edit?

Edit?

Hey, how come I can edit someone else's post?

Can you post a screen shot of one of your posts and include another person's post also?

Have you had an edit button since moving to the new forum? When did you first notice?

Use ALT + PrintScreen, that way you will get just the active window and NOT the entire desktop.

Over came the first hurdle, found the motor. A 2009 LS2 with just a little over 16,000 miles. 400 hp in stock form, this build must stand out, so a minimum goal now is set for 650 Hp with a few adjustments.

The second hurdle, the rear axle. I'm totally lost and need ideas. The occasional 1/4 mile track test and burn-out and geared modestly for highway trips. This rear must be appropriate to this build without going over-board.

Now the "Edit" button is showing, I don't know what happened? Oh, and it just started the last day or so.

That car's a full stock car style tube frame race car with a team that care for it. Very little "factory" left other than looks.

I still want it ;)I just don't want to pay for the race fuel, tires, and all the other maintenance that comes with a true race car.

Long day. Just got back an hour ago from a round trip that started around lunch time to pick up the engine in Albany, NY. Tomorrow, the trans and I think the truck its self will be a matter of how much work I want to do.
It looked like a thunder storm was a possibility early this evening so I wrapped the motor like a bag of Heroin going through customs, so no pictures to post tonight guys.

I need to come up with a Web-site, name and a low costing one as well so people can follow the build, interact with people and post photos. I know I'm going to regret moving so fast, not many people will know about this project until I'm almost done and likely blow any hope of needed donations. Then it's very likely my lust for going all out will bust the budget of $20K and the Boss says if I do I have to set up and plant her garden the following spring ( she knows I hate that and against any garden)

lol I saw that engine on craigs list should have let me known you were in the area was it the one in Latham that came with the parts

No John, I Finally came to my senses and logged off of Craig's LOL!
I bought a complete setup from a reputable shop that gives a 90 warranty. They include a lot of documentation to substantiate origin and mileage. I found them on eBay. Always thinking of the final budget I elected to endure the long ride and pick this up myself and save $350 shipping in the process (minus the $100 in fuel of course).

This isn't the best engine money can buy but it's a respectable choice. This particular engine is favored by Will Handzel, author of "How to Build a High Performance Chevy LSX" and lately more secretes are discovered about this block's many hidden assets. My one regret - I should have picked a second one for myself.

I almost bought a whole donor truck, a first year run of the LQ9. The thought process was to get this truck and pull the drive train and sell off the rest of the bits and pieces, but when thinking of all the extra work and the countless chuckleheads I would have to deal with selling door knobs and grill trim, it was like a cold dog's nose up your ass when you least expect it!

You can get a nice free website with Wix or Weebly, easy to setup too. I use hostgator business plan for hosting, Used GoDaddy for my domains and built my site with wordpress. I paid for my themes since I run an ecommerce, but there are a lot of great free themes for wordpress. If you go with hostgator you can find some really good coupons for new plans.

That's great information, I'm acting on that right now. You lost me on "Themes" I'll have to look that on up.
Thank you

Starting my own Website page too.
Wife got it started for me.
Posted a few pics of me next to my 1987 C4 vert.

Kinda like how our Willie Gasser Man did his own Website.
Put up a few of my Corvette Rear diff builds up & others.
They get lost eventual on the forums all my completed projects.
My own site they won't.

Dana 60 rear best choice Richard.
I build them too.
Have 1 here.

Advertised HP Is meaningless today Richard.
Race Street Performance sells today.
1/4 Mile Track times with Timeslips & You Tube Videos.

If you want HP Bragging rights 800 Hp Is baseline.
What the Hellcats actually have.
707 Hp low balled intentionally .

Brian, I was actually thinking of 800 hp but I don't want it to look like a resto mod. Now that I've researched the LQ9 I learned the "Sleeper" look for that Hp wont be that difficult.

Can you elaborate on the Dana 60 for 800. That's the next big ticket item purchased any time now. How about a stock axle and differential straight from a 2500HD? Most run 3:73 (automatic) - correct?
