Thiis my point, I get deleted - again!
you did NOT lose anything, it was only a few brief discussions about how each posters views were either correct or being deleted
it was not about the subject mater at hand,
I don't want to get into how the current majority party politicians' are trying to either ignore or get around the obvious intent of the second amendment, and how they are trying every conceivably way limit or remove, or restrict, license and register, the citizens rights to be armed.
that mind set is locked into the idea that its the mere existence of the firearm in civilian hands that is the root cause of the violence!
current proposed changes
democrat proposals ALL try to reduce legal access to firearms and or components, magazine cartridge capacity ,or ammo, or force firearm owners to license.(licensing is always REQUIRED before CONFISCATION)
republican proposals usually try to significantly enhance penalties for mis-use,
acknowledging reality, that it is the person using the firearm controls what its used for (good or bad)
or in a few cases republicans want to remove existing laws or restrictions like limits on magazine capacity,
which sound good, to the general firearm owner but not to the dems, changes that in fact have zero effect on a firearms potential lethality.
I know I can, repeatedly and consistently change 10 cartridge pistol or rifle mags before the existing empty magazine hits the ground, thus keeping the firearm fully loaded, for as long as I have mags available

Do you ever try writing to your representative, senators or anyone to let them know how you feel and what you want them to do? My time here predates what this and the last 2 forums show I’ve been a member and I can’t say I ever recall reading you wrote anyone. It sometimes works when enough people show they what they care about and vote accordingly.

Everyone has an oppinion.
You can lose your best friend and wife as well as family over discussing sex/ politics/ religion.
Those in charge try to keep it civil on forums.
Perhaps you are correct but when enough people voice their opinions and it’s picked in protests, politicians can’t completely ignor the possibilities. How do you think these politicians come about what they stand on? The opposition leans on them and then it‘s all about who carries the weight.
Ten years ago a fight began to eliminate the use of opioids altogether. It was slated to close down all production in the US by 2024. Very few people bothered for a useless argument until some key groups formed and now, this summer some important issues are proposed for change. Legitimate use is being accepted and Doctors wont have to fear their hands are tied. The 5 day supply rule and the secrete “half dose maximum” will be gone this August. There are some parallels that remain to be see.
yeah, I've always taken the time and effort to find out,
who my local representative's are in both federal and state government
(senate and house in both state and federal)
and send them a note or two when any pending legislation

Not many know this but any politician is only as good as their staff is willing to be. When you call them they’re pulling up your name and address as you speak and know how you voted. when you call with an issue your name and address in plugged into a template that spells out your request(s). Regardlesss of the level they do keep tally of their constituencies requests and turn in reports once a month. Somehow calls and letters when counted are figured to equate a representing number of the population. It’s done like this in all states except Utah and Vermont.
Our local Rep here I've e mailed every week for 4 years and never got a response ever so I started addressing him as Do Nothing Mike well on election day when I went to vote he tries to hand me a card to vote for him and I reminded him and 20 others standing in line that he never responded to any mail that I sent him ,and when I called him Do Nothing Mike you would think he saw a ghost
My guess is there are too many like this, they only care when its close to election time. I had some questions about the proposed sales tax holiday and called the woman who proposed the bill. Her assistant couldn’t give me all the answers but he gave me the office of a rep in my district who could. I don’t know who he is, never heard of him and didn’t vote for him, can’t even tell you if it was a D or an R but I did get my answers and he put me in touch with much more information.
That guy, in that office was an anomaly.
About 10 years ago I called another political numb-nut, can’t recall his party either, he just was in my district at that time. I was blocked from ever talking to him, had to talk to his assistant of 30 yrs and was belligerent as can be every time I called. They gave me bad intell as I later found out.
