unfortunately busy-body/ know- it- all,....P.I.T.A, people, exist and love too stick thier nose in everyones lives ,
who want to control everything that happends around them,
who feel that they and they alone have any right to any opinion,
"mrs KRAVITES" type A$$HOLES are far from RARE

thats one of the major factors in why I wanted to build a shop,and live in a rural location on 5 acres, I had a couple people like that living near my old home in miami, so I bought land in rural palm beach where I saved and planed to retire as soon as I could early in my life ! you obviously can,t control your neighbors but you can at least select a place to live that has far less likely hood of them bitching about a car parked in a drive way, or you working on your car at 9pm with an air ratchet, or some other reason they might complain.
simply selecting a location to live where thats not an issue, goes a long way towards eliminating that potential problem....and yes it took me planing and saving for 30 plus years to acomplish

I think its just a bunch of smoke filled coffee house crap! They are afraid if he can do it everyone else in the neighborhood will want to built a gearhead garage. From what the article says it looks like a rural area, the yards appear to be large, so I don't buy the noise thing. Here's the kicker, he sold a large part of his property to work on his house and to build the garage. Guess who bought the property he sold? You guessed it! The one's that are pitching a fit. That is just wrong!
 
I had neighbors like that at my old house if the hood was opened on a car the police were there> It got to a point that when anyone stopped I would have them open their hood to check the oil or something the cops showed up & there was no noise or work going on. After a while it quit but they all would ask me to work on their cars & I wouldn't do it
 
Neighbors can be such a$$holes. I've got a few around me too.
The old retired neighbor across the street from my house (now dead),
used to sit in a lawn chair in his driveway every day from morning to night
watching what I was doing. He never complained, I was his daily entertainment.
But he never thought about how annoying his doing this might be to me. Clueless.

I had a neighbor like that. We had my (ex) wife's slutty friend come over and flash the old man While we waived and took pictures.
 
yeah! having some gal flashing the old geezer will drive him away......about like throwing 3 lb raw steaks at hungry wolves would drive them away!
 
If his wife saw him staring at the flasher, the old geezer is never going outside again.
