For fathers day I got a pressure oil primer (see link) and used it twice, it’s great and I wish I had it years ago!
Question - How long do you believe it takes for surfaces in an engine to drain off the oil after it’s been sitting not run?
I know some would say “every 5 days just sitting” once it was know you could prime in less than 15 minutes start to finish, but that’s not what I’m looking for.https://www.melling.com/product/engine-prelube/

I love that tool, Ill start saving to get one!
the type of oil matters, all oil leaves some surface film behind, most types eventually evaporate
oils based on Pennsylvania crude tend to have a higher paraffin content , so they tend to leave a wax like micro film that can last a bit longer and of course moisture content in the air and the average and extremes in the temp shifts also effect the rust resistance, Id say most oil has drained in under a day , leaving only the film behind, most engines have a fairly substantial micro sludge film, so if the cars engine was kept in a garage it will tend to last significantly longer before corrosion damage happens to the internal

On my Corvette I installed a T fitting in the block where the oil pressure sensor is mounted and caped off one branch for quick connections.
No answer?

??? most oil has drained in under 24 hours but the film left on metal surfaces can last for years under some conditions

The link is correct when I click on it. They make a few different looking pumps. I just put a couple quarts in the tank, cap it off and charge the tank with about 40 lbs of air. It pumps about a quart of oil before I see it flowing out the top of the rockers. I had the valve cover off the first time, now I can see through the oil fill.

Ester based engine oils are sad to cling on to metall.
I tryed this summer ester based (partly i guess) engine oil in my Suburban 5.3 and it reduced the cold start piston slap, so maybe there is something to it?

On the Lucas countertop oil display did you notice that there is about 3/4 of an inch more oil in the Lucas side LOL
