Tko600 In A '55 Gasser

2Loose

reliable source of info
Ran a Doug Nash 4+1 for years in my '55 Chevy gasser, but just couldn't keep it together behind my blown Olds 425, so now have a new TKO600 in there, but....
It's been a bit of a problem. Shifting is tight, I have to shove hard on the shifter to get it to go into gear. Have checked the clutch clearances frequently, it's all within spec, lube is the recommended stuff and is clean, not sure what is happening, but hot or cold, motor running or not, it feels like the synchros just don't want to slide into place....
Now the shifter is jammed in 4th gear, and I have to pull the tranny and tear it down to see what is going on in there, not a fun thought!!
Will post pix on what I find....
The "Patches" home pages....

What weight oil are you using? " lube is the recommended stuff" Is it a new tranny or a used one?
