I had a problem with the Tool Aid 18960 crimper that I bought thru Amazon in
December 2013. The crimper was spreading apart at the head where the dies go
in and and popping while I am crimping a wire. I sent the email below to Tool Aid
and got a response ....see the email below. They offered to send me another
crimper and asked me to return the old crimper with a copy of the email. A couple
of days ago the new one arrive just as promised.

I purchased your crimper set #18960 on 12-19-2012 thru Amazon. The tool works
great, but now it seems to be broke.

The top side of the nose starts spreading apart during the crimp. At the very
end of the crimp it pops and you feel it in the handles.

Seems a tool like this should last nearly a life time for someone like myself
that is just a Hobbyist!!!

Can ToolAid help me out ???

thats a bad ass looking crimper. good thing they hooked you up with a new one. very good of them.

I waited until the new crimper got here, just to make sure they came thru with
the new one. The only sent the pliers, no dies or case, but that was the only thing
that broke.

For $75, now I can do weather pack connectors and spark plug wires, although I
can't say how well they work for those connectors yet. They have another another
set with nine dies, mine has seven.

Die Set - Applications:
18921 For insulated terminals 22-10 AWG.
18922 For non insulated open barrel connectors 22-10 AWG including Weatherpack terminals
18923 For non insulated terminals 22-8 AWG
18924 For non insulated terminals 22-8 AWG
18925 For miniature insulated rings, spade and butt splices 22-16 AWG
18928 For RG-6 and RG-59 coaxial cable
18929 For 8mm and 8.5mm spiral core spark plug wire. Strips
the insulation, crimps the spiral core to the spark plug
terminal and crimps the terminal to the spark plug wire
insulation.
