training and arming teachers to defend lives, greatly reduce the potential for mass school shootings

arming about 5%-10% of teachers, who want to carry concealed and take the state required training,
and ideally having one or ideally a few well armed school resource officers,
and electronic shot detection equipment alarms helps reduce potential causalities
( HAVING COPS ON the SCHOOL PROPERTY /SITE SURE WON'T HURT EITHER)
and installing what are referred to as bullet proof locking doors
no solution is going to eliminate those intent on doing evil/ and committing murder ,
but we can lower the odds of them being successful

yes there are things that can be done, according to the research I've found, statistically some actions reduced ,
shooting causalities by about 67%-73% from schools .
Those schools who won't allow teachers to concealed carry or allow armed resource officers on school property
keep in mind most places that won't
" allow teachers to concealed carry or allow armed resource officers on school property"
quote "COST" as one of the main reasons

(yes there have been several cases where school resource officers , or local police,
FAILED to confront school shooters, in a timely and effective manor, which the media love to point out)
(you can't selectively pick and choose and ignore cases to make a point, you need to accept reality good or bad to see the trends)
if some potential mass shooting is stopped and some kid or adult is disarmed arrested and locked up, the news ignores that routinely
the fact is that the more difficult you make it to commit a crime, and the higher the risk the criminals and insane face,
the less likely you will be dealing with that type of crime

Reading and hearing about the school shooting in Texas and looking at the timeline of events you have to wonder if there were stand down orders from somewhere and within minutes you hear about take away the gun speech then the big clown Beto Ororke interrupts Abbots speech with his anti gun grandstand I guess all the gun grabbers want to make the country safe like Chimpcongo and St Lewis Detroit etc.

I believe that some thing’s need to be put in place . I believe that training is the most crucial part of this equation. I would like to see Fast Response Teams put in place for each School District or , if a bigger inter city school district would have multiple FRT’s . As I mentioned , Training is the most crucial aspect of this and any form of anti Terrorism protection . The horrific response in Texas will hopefully bring about national change in addressing the safety of our children and grandchildren . With timely and rapid force. Saving lives.
Of course the issue of funding is on the table . What is the price of an young life ? If we had FRT’s highly trained for this specific job. The crowd control and evacuation could be safely carried out by drilled plans with students and Teachers as well as responding law enforcement. With this being the main focus of all 3 working together on the time consuming and life costing time to secure a perimeter. A FRT team could and would insert immediately to engage and defeat the shooter or shooters . It is far easier to isolate a perimeter that is “red “ or active and not cleared to be isolated and have both objectives running simultaneously. One evacuation being one operation , isolating the engagement zone, insert FRT to have a flowing response with a separate highly purpose trained team.
The fact of friendly fire and rounds flying during evacuation, will be a point of argument, but it can be addressed with weapon calibration and safe zone buffers the exact same way we did in Iraq. The costs of these School District law enforcement agencies ( we have a separate law enforcement agency that is funded by the School district in Seattle ) they have their own vehicle’s and are fully commissioned law enforcement officers .
To employ and train FRT teams within these agencies would increase response ( boots on the red zone ) times incredibly. Of course we all have FRT’s and SWAT teams that are highly trained individuals ( I have trained side by side with these teams at Fort Lewis -McCord ) they are highly proficient trained personnel. Their biggest complaint in a civilian theater is that the process of determining what agencies have command over the crime scene , delegation of multiple organizations response , ect . Before they are ever allowed to engage and do their jobs .
With the FRT’s being Employed via the the School district. They would have jurisdiction, and before hand permission to deploy and actively secure the “red zone” and engage and defeat the Shooter or Shooter’s . Of course this all would have to pass legislation, be funded , ( what is our childrens and Grand Children’s lives worth ?) I know I vote this in before light transit and highway dot projects !!
As far as Teachers being armed , I believe that any American that is legal to train and own a firearm legally should do so. But ☝️, it is different to carry a weapon and train to handle safely as well as store and fire a weapon in a controlled environment, then to engage a shooter in a combat situation. One good guy with the capabilities to neutralize a bad guy is always better, but I have seen instances where they have been defeated , injured and killed . But ,” smoke em if you got ‘em “ ! I Hope that this craziness is brought to the head of the spear and the spear leaves anyone whom seeks to bring harm to our children and teachers to an abrupt ( you ain’t gonna need a lawyer ) end ! The team that Neutralized the Texas shooter was a FRT from the border patrol . I’m not sure exactly how they where deployed and when ? But I know they did what they did what they are trained for. Thank you !
My thoughts
GOD bless America

Good idea, at least until some mal adjusted teacher has a bad day with a student or a fellow staffer. I seem to remember right after 9/11 when the great idea was that all pilots, copilots and attendants carried. A limited few found trouble and that concept was dropped in favor of just the Skymarshalls on every flight.

I hope they supply and extensively train the willing and knowledgeable security personnel (at least 6 -8 per school) with BOTH handguns and carbines like 5.7-28 carbines, supply them with level 4 vests, and provide handguns that have limited penetration on walls, but good terminal ballistics on insane intruders ,and replace the doors with bullet resistant locks and door panels, and add a school wide video/alarm and intercom system, with sirens , and a cell phone that auto dials local sheriff departments and auto locks most internal class doors from outside access but allows sheriff department's instant flawless and easy access, if both the sheriffs personnel and select on-sight trained teachers have access to weapons/ vests, and accessing the carbines or defensive vests instantly sets off sirens , and at least 6-8 personnel per school carry concealed at all times security will be vastly better.
(all security personnel weapons and vests should be easily identified by sheriffs personnel so un-intended friendly fire will not occur easily)
that have at least limited ability to punch through light body armor , carbines have both an accuracy and mag capacity advantage,
you would be at a distinct DIS -advantage if you were only armed with a handgun if confronting a nut job child killer, armed with a carbine.
yes it cost money but I don't know a single parent or grand parent that would not willingly add a few bucks in monthly taxes to accomplish this goal !!
I know Id willingly kick in a $300 a year for that goal, and if everyone does,

it should make attacking a school significantly more risky/difficult

I bet most Texans can shoot very well and the special training.will be a plus for students safety.

notice the areas the liberal dems control where legal access to guns are severally restricted
like chicago (link below) have so few shootings due to gun free zones in almost the whole city
