Tricks to Separate Intermediate Shaft from Steering Col.

Object: Swap Steering column. '85 C-4 "ZR-2" 523 Cid, ZF-6

I have all the dash apart with all brackets, wiring, wheel, etc. off. Assembly free under dash.

Pinch bolt backed out, collar spread, but for some reason it will not release off the col. shaft. Shaft has flat index face.

Of course, not much room. Ideal solution looks like some way of expanding between firewall and pinch bolt to push Int. shaft forward.

Any ideas?

Of course, answered own question.... which is remove bolts completely.
